About

Beth Whittenbury

As a 25-year PV resident and incumbent, I seek to retain a job I treasure. My first paid job as a library page for a library system similar to the PLVD, although a city library system and not a special district like ours, gave me an insight into the concerns of staff as well as patrons. Over the years, other positions further prepared me to work as a library trustee. As an attorney with leadership roles within the American Bar Association and the California Lawyers Association, I write, advocate for, and implement policy resolutions. Within my time on the Library Board of Trustees, I have helped amend our policies to address liability, accommodation, and other important issues. My work on other community boards such as the PVP Chamber of Commerce (Board and Executive Committee) and the Toberman Neighborhood Center further prepared me to successfully engage as a Library Trustee. In addition, I both teach Business Communications at CSU Dominguez Hills and provide strategic guidance as a member of the College of Business and Public Policy Dean’s Advisory Board.
As a current trustee, I have attended the California Special District Association’s leadership training for trustees, district ethics training, and more. This training enhanced my ability to serve you as an informed, aware, and skilled trustee. Most importantly, I love our library system. To me, the library is the center of our community which offers something for everyone. I want to support that purpose and will always strongly advocate for those values if you vote for me.
